ITANAGAR, Oct 28: Former Chief Minister and incumbent Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Nabam Tuki has slammed the state government for its failure to contain the Covid-19 pandemic and incompetency in completing the Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH).
Speaking to media persons today here at the Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, Tuki alleged that the state government is taking the pandemic lightly. “There are no proper facilities at District Health Centres, CHCs and PHCs and if the virus somehow manages to reach the villages, it may create more havoc,” Tuki said, requesting the state government and its Health Department to infuse seriousness in the pandemic’s combat. “There is no transparency and accountability in the use of Covid funds in the state and the Central funds must be used judiciously,” the APCC President stated.
Expressing concern over delays in construction of roads and their dilapidated condition, Tuki lamented that the TAH project which was sanctioned during the UPA regime under the leadership of then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh through special packages is still to be completed.
Besides the highways, even the roads at the Sectors and Colonies in the ICR are in the worst condition, the former Chief Minister added.
