ITANAGAR, Jul 12: Heavy rainfall since last few weeks has caused havoc at Sagalee area, resulting in flood like situation in many villages of the circles.

According to reports rain caused maximum damaged to roads including infrastructures, besides Scarcity of food has aggravated the situation in areas like Mengio, Toru, Leporiang, Silsango and Parang circles, with people running out of essential supplies such as food and medicines.

Meanwhile, local MLA cum Former Chief Minister, Nabam Tuki has called upon Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister today and appealed for early restoration of damaged road by sanctioning adequate funds for re-construction of the damaged infrastructure.

He also requested the CM to deploy sufficient medical relief team in the area and instructed the concern administrative, departments, PRIs leaders to remain stay alert during heavy rainfall.

Earlier Tuki also held an emergency meeting with Minister (Food & Civil Supply), Kamlung Mossang and discussed about severe food crisis in flood hit area of Sagalee area and its adjoining areas.

Tuki urged the Minister to supply adequate rations in flood affected areas immediately.
