SAGALEE, Apr 21: Former Chief Minister of the state and Sagalee MLA Nabam Tuki on Wednesday dedicated a steel bridge in Sagalee Circle constructed over Pare river to the people of his constituency.
Inaugurating the much-awaited bridge measuring 75 mtrs connecting Rigo and Nimte villages, Tuki said it will boost developmental activities in the area. More than 13 such bridges have been constructed in my constituency and hardly few are pending and rest of the bridge projects will be taken up immediately after arrival of proposals, he said. Referring to state government’s declaration of 2021 as the Year of Education, Tuki while noting that construction activities of the engineering college at Toru were delayed, informed that works are currently in full progress. “The Women’s ITI in my constituency has been completed with posting of principal and hopefully academic activities will commence soon,” he added. The people of Sagalee AC have elected me and since then I have been giving my best efforts for its development, the MLA asserted. Sagalee ADC Audil Toko, SEs of PWD Bobia-Sagalee Circle Hage Bida and PWD Sagalee Division Nabam Takar were among others who addressed the gathering.
The steel bridge has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 7 crore with funding from the RIDF. It has a carriageway of 4.25 mtrs and a loading capacity of 24 R supported by RCC decking.
