Itanagar, Feb 2: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Tsering Lhamu, wife of former MLA late Jambey Tashi, on Thursday filed her nomination for the bye-election to the Lumla Assembly Constituency in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Accompanied by her two proposers and advocate, Tsering Lhamu filed her papers before the Returning Officer for the February 27 bye-polls, official sources said.
The last date for filing nominations is February 7, while the scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on February 8. The last date for withdrawal of candidatures, as notified by the Election Commission of India, is February 10. Counting of votes is scheduled on March 2.
It may be mentioned that the BJP has on Wednesday announced Tsering Lhamu to be its official nominee for the Lumla Assembly seat that fell vacant following the demise of her husband, BJP leader Jambey Tashi on November 2 last year following a brief illness. 
Meanwhile, ahead of the Lumla bypoll, a meeting cum briefing of the appointed sector officers was held today by the Returning Officer for 1-Lumla ST Assembly Constituency RD Thungon, Dy.DEO Rinchin Leta, and Master Trainer Tashi Dhondup at the  DC office Tawang.
Thungon, directed the sector officers to immediately visit their respective sectors and inspect polling stations to assure minimum facilities in every polling station and intimate the election office of any shortcomings so that timely rectification in any polling station can be done ahead of the polls.
Speaking about the communication system, Superintendent of Police Bomge Kamduk informed that every vehicle attached with sector officers will be provided with VHF sets and walkie talkies, and communication plans will be shared with all the sector officers.
