WAKRO, Dec 13: The Anu Shiksha Seva Trust under its Beena Ghose Roy Scheme (Care for the elderly) which is an initiative in honour of an inspirational army officer, today offered assistance to an elderly woman of a local village.
Cheshta Singh, IFS, DFO, Kamlang Wildlife Sanctuary handed over ration gifts and ADC Lohit Sunny Singh, gave a cheque of rupees Twelve Thousand to one Walengla Mam of Old Pukhuri Village in presence of SP Ankit Singh in a simple function at Beena Ghose Roy Enclave today.
The welfare initiative by ASSET is in admiration of a distinguished officer of the Indian Army, a serving general and in gratitude to a prestigious infantry division stationed in the North Eastern Region. The General Officer has inspired and promoted many welfare initiatives especially in the fields of education and development of the youth in the region. The cause for supporting education of girl child and motivating youth towards a happy and healthy life especially weaning youth away from drug addiction received great attention and support of the General Officer and the Indian Army.
ASSET thanked the distinguished officers of the Indian Administrative Service, the Indian Police Service and Indian Forest Service for rendering and encouraging a humble initiative on a Sunday. The officers were delighted to know about the great deeds and inspiring leadership of the Army in the region and the dignitaries assured support for initiatives of welfare taken up in the area.
