Wakro, Jan 29: Deputy chief minister Chowna Mein was feted with the 'Vineeta Card' for his help and care towards senior citizens by the Anu Shiksha Seva Trust.
Surja Prasad Acharya, a beneficiary of the Sanjeev Prakalp care for elders of the Anu Shiksha Seva Trust handed over the card to the DyCM.
While interacting with the elder, Mein assured that senior citizens especially those who devoted their prime in service of society will be looked after in the best possible ways and also appreciated NGOs and individuals working for social welfare. 
Chairman ASSET Rohinso Krisikro who was also present informed the Dy CM about the initiatives of free education for children and Sanjeev Prakalp care for elders under the Beena Ghose Roy Scheme of the ASSET. Special mention was made regarding the contribution of the officers of the Indian Army units for supporting education of children with special emphasis on girls education.
ASSET thanks the DyCM for his stable support to works of social sector and for encouragement and support to humble rural efforts especially in the field of reading promotion by youth volunteers in the region, Krisikro said.
In a separate event at Anugrah, Col Sushil Rana, Commanding Officer of the 7th batallion of the Sikh Regt handed over the Sanjiv Prakalp care for elder assistance to one Jivan Acharya to cover the medical expenses of his ailing father for a month. The ASSET provided the financial assistance in commemorating the Meeta Meet 2022.
