Khonsa, Jul 27: A TrueNat laboratory was inaugurated here at the General Hospital on Monday by Deputy Commissioner, Tirap Bhanu Prabha which has been a long-felt demand in the district amid the ongoing Covid-19 battle.
DMO Dr. Koblem Mossang, Pathologist I/c of the lab Dr Yatu Ghee, DSO Dr W. Shin, DRCHO Dr. Nidak Angu, Medical Superintendent Dr. K. Socia, doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians and hospital staff were present during the inauguration.
The DC while congratulating the frontline health workers in particular and the people of Tirap as a whole for having the lab which will now help in conducting more hassle-free screening tests of returnees/inmates, also informed that from Monday onwards such tests will be done at the General Hospital itself. She lauded the team of health warriors headed by the DMO for the untiring efforts in containing the pandemic in the district and appealed the citizens to abide by all the SOPs.
The DMO while appreciating the DC for her continuous support in bringing all the required facilities at the hospital also praised the district police led by SP Kardak Riba for supplementing the Covid fightback efforts.
Earlier, Dr Ghee demonstrated the functioning of the TrueNat machine during the inaugural programme. DIPRO
