TEZU, Jul 24: The 132 KV Pasighat-Roing-Tezu transmission line which is in a state of breakdown since July 20 last has resulted in complete blackout in the three districts of Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit and Namsai.
The breakdown is a result of the damage caused to the high-tension tower line by the flooding Dotung river in Dambuk Circle which has also caused massive erosion of its banks. As per sources, emergency restoration services are currently on and the damaged tower has been relocated and repairing of the conductor will be completed soon. “If the stringing of the single conductor can be completed today, we can expect restoration of power supply by Friday evening,” EE Lohit Division Hage Gumto informed.
Moreover, the 33 KV line from Rupai in Assam has been damaged at Digaru recently due to flood. Power Division Lohit informed that men and machineries have been pressed on war footing to restore power supply.
