BOMDILA, Mar 14: A two-day district level sensitization training programme on Social Audit under MGNREGA for PMAY (Gramin) and other Rural Development Programme  concluded here on Sunday.
West Kameng ZPC Rinchin Jomba Merakpa in her inaugural address threw light on the process of planning and implementation of work, preparing job cards for every poor and needy households, details of ongoing projects and their benefits for the villagers and so on. She also stressed that all work should be done with quality which will be monitored by the ZPMs at ground level. Assistant Director SW Bagang, SIRD (Itanagar) who attended the programme as a state resource person delivered detailed on Social Audit and its importance. The meaning of Social Audit is ‘Transparency and accountability’, he added.  He urged all the BDOs, ZPMs and other members to attend such training and briefed them how Social Audit is different from General Financial Audit. 
He also dwelt on the “pre-RTI era activities,” growth and institutionalizing of social audit,  social audit rules, need and process of social audit, etc in his presentation.
ADCs, BDOs, PD (DRDA) and staff and other officials from respective blocks also attended the programme.
