PASIGHAT, Nov 28: A Five days Capacity Building Training Programme on “Rainwater harvesting and its management for horticultural crops” began on November 26 at College of Horticulture and Forestry (CHF), Central Agricultural University, Pasighat.
Thirty trainees including engineers of work departments and officials of other line departments etc are attending the training which will conclude on November 30 next.
The course aims to upgrade the skill and knowledge of participants with the latest advancement in rain water harvesting structures, fresh water resource management, micro-irrigation, their design & construction, soil & water management techniques, importance of soil testing and cultivation package of practices of horticultural crops.
The course director of the training programme is Dr. Saroj Kumar Pattanaaik, Associate Professor, CHF, CAU, Pasighat. The programme was chaired by Dr. BN Hazarika, Dean, CHF, CAU as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour was Dr. BK Sethy, Principal Scientist, ICAR, Barapani.
