NAHARLAGUN, Mar 11: A two-day state level Workshop-Cum-Refresher Training of Trainers on 'Use of Integrated Health Information Platform in Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme' commenced today here at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) which will cover fourteen districts.
The workshop is part of the preparations ahead of the nation-wide launch of the Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) on April 1. Three to four participants each from the district surveillance units of the IDSP are participating in the training to be trained as Master Trainers who in turn will conduct and complete the district and block level training before the nation-wide launch. The IHIP is a web-enabled near real-time electronic information system that is embedded with all applicable GoI e-Governance standards, information technology, data and metadata standards to provide state-of-the-art single operating picture with geo-spatial information for managing disease outbreaks and related resources. Unlike the IDSP, which provides weekly reporting on 16 communicable diseases, IHIP will cover over 33 diseases and will be on a daily-basis reporting and case-based system. It is expected to be a game changer in enhancing disease surveillance and predicting outbreaks or epidemics to near real-time accuracy to enable prompt actions even at village and household levels.
Arunachal Pradesh is being supported by the Nishta, Jhpiego team which is providing technical assistance in conducting the training and in planning of IHIP’s roll out in the state. WHO will also be supporting some districts in conducting and monitoring the district and block level training.
Similar training for the remaining twelve districts will be held on March 18-19.
