ZIRO, Jun 8: A two day training on Integrated Community Computer (ICC) for smart classrooms was inaugurated by DDSE, Lower Subansiri, Yumlam Tana at Government Secondary School, Hapoli today. 

Lauding the initiative of the Chief Minister, Tana informed that the project initiated under CM’s Adhunik Shiksha Yojana aims to give a new scientific dimension to teaching. It's participative and interactive in nature and also aims to develop interest among students in learning, he said. 

He exhorted the teachers to sincerely participate in the training program and also get hands-on with the K-Yan machine. 

DPC Likha Bida in his introductory speech dealt in length about the K-Yan (knowledge-yan) machine and the government's initiatives for smart classrooms. 

K- Yan is a compact ICT tool that has been developed by IL&FS Education in collaboration with IIT- Bombay, which can work as a computer and a projector and supports multiple peripherals and enabled interactive learning in various languages. 

Noyon Dey from EDCIL (Indai) Ltd will be the resource person for the two day training. 

Teachers from across Lower Subansiri will be attending the two day training program.
