Itanagar, Mar 7: The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW), Itanagar and Arunachal Life Saving Foundation (ALSF) in collaboration with Miss Universe Arunachal Pradesh organised Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on the auspicious occasion of International Women's Day 2026 with the theme "Give to Gain" at RK Mission Hospital Conference Hall.
ALSF Chairman Ramesh Jeke elaborated key note points of blood donation and how it can save lives. He elaborated the honourable work of donating blood can be beneficial not only for receiver but also to the donor. As donating blood can develop new blood cells in one body, it reduces many health issues such as heart problem, cholesterol and boost immune system.
Chief Guest APSCW Chairperson Yalem Taga Burang encouraged the participants to give blood that can save many lives. She also encouraged girl participants to give blood.
Guest of Hounour 138 Battalion CRPF Deputy Commandent Dr. Mudhamuchu Manasa appreciated the initiative of Voluntary Blood Donation by ALSF. She spoke on cervical cancer, breast cancer and free vaccine available to be received by young girl child under the age of 14 years.
She shared how 1 unit of blood can save three lives divided into platelet, plasma and PRBC (Pec-cell). She also informed that the CRPF is always ready to volunteer to donate blood or any kind of help to all the citizens; lastly she spoke on being privileged to serve in Arunachal Pradesh to learned that the women in here are much privilege and heading at par with man compare to rest of the state of India.
Special Guest Miss Universe Arunachal Pradesh 2025 winner Longku Komal also spoke on blood donation and how it benefits others and they have extended their will to venture into more such noble work in future.
The Commission team also distributed fruits, sanitary pads and supplements at RK today to commemorative IWD and distribute the same at TRIHMS tomorrow.
