ANINI, Mar 20: The Department of Tourism organized a training programme on Designation Management and Homestay Hospitality involving the local communities, Homestay operators, Tour operators etc. This is a first kind of tourism awareness programme in the district. The department started a drive in the post COVID 19 pandemic situation as “Tourism for All” by revisiting destinations & reviewing hospitality with a view to motivate and prepare the stakeholders to overcome post covid situation on reopening of tourism in Arunachal Pradesh. 
Three new destinations namely Tuting, Yingkiong and Anini have been covered by this motivational workshop to promote homestays with a motive to reach the unreached. It is after almost 24 months tourism is reopening in Arunachal Pradesh. 
In the pre pandemic period the Department has trained and involved several local youths from rural areas of the state in the field of tourism and many among them had received benefits under the “Mukhyamantri Paryan Vikas Yojona”, who as tourism stakeholders had been assets for sustainable rural development in the state. 
28 members have attended the training at Anini. 
The training in collaboration with Association for Conservation & Tourism (ACT) and Arunachal Pradesh for Education Development (APSED) led by Deputy Director for Tourism, Bengia Manna Sonam, resource person Raj Basu, advisor Tourism, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Sunil Chauhan and Pankaj Trivedi film maker along with team of resource persons from SFCI Itanagar. 
The intensive training included importance of tourism, art of communication development for tourism, waste management at destinations, housekeeping and food production, benefits for stakeholders in rural tourism and homestays, and above all conservation of natural and cultural resources through tourism. The participants along with DTO planned to hold a Butterfly Meet and Festival in September, 2022. Meanwhile meeting with Homestay operators was also held at Roing on March 16 on Revisiting Destinations and reviewing hospitality motivating the stakeholders on the theme Restarting Tourism for all.
Potential stakeholders who have undergone the training in various locations will be sent off to an exposure tour under the banner “Dekho Apna Pradesh” and Azadi Ki Amrit Mahotsav to popular tourist destinations wherein they can have first-hand experience on operation of Homestay and cultural presentation and share their experience to the communities.
