Indian Army conducts ‘Know Your Army’ outreach
ITANAGAR, Nov 25: The training imparted by the troops of Chowkham Battalion of Lohit Brigade under the aegis of Dao Division has resulted in selection of 36 youths from the Army Recruitment rally conducted in Jairampur from March 3-7 this year.
These youths who have successfully passed all selection tests were among a total of 336 aspirants from Arunachal Pradesh and Assam trained by the battalion for the said rally. The success is a direct outcome of seamless military-civil cooperation which was displayed through a well-coordinated, thoroughly planned and executed training of the aspirants. Tireless efforts of the Chowkham Battalion in selection of such a large number of candidates have not only given a major boost to employment prospects of the local youths but also highlight the weaning support to insurgency in the area. It is worth mentioning that the Army in the past three years through its training has been instrumental in recruitment of 266 local boys in Armed/Paramilitary forces. These youths, besides being a cause of pride for the locals have emerged as a major force behind development of the area.
The CO, officers and troops of Chongkham battalion, Lohit Brigade and Dao division have been wholeheartedly appreciated by the locals for their catalytic role.
