Indian Army conducts ‘Know Your Army’ outreach
LUNGLA, Jan 11: A six-day training course on Hospitality and Adventure Tourism for the locals of Lungla commenced today here at the Gakyid Zomkhang Hall.
Organised jointly by the Lungla administration and the Jemeithang Battalion under Tawang Brigade of Indian Army in collaboration with Himalayan Holidays, Bomdila, the training is intended to equip the locals engaged in tourism business and 3-day each has been earmarked for adventure tourism and hospitality & catering management. Registered homestay owners, students, executive members of Dakpa-Pangchen Employees’ Welfare Association (DEWA), members of bazaar committees, Self Help Groups, GBs etc. attended the inaugural event which was graced by Colonel Abhishek Atal as Chief Guest and ADC Lungla Tashi Dhondup as Guest of Honour. Founder & CEO Himalayan Holidays, Tsering Wange briefed on the benefits of adventure tourism and hospitality in generating employment opportunities and self-sustenance of tourism in the area.
