ITANAGAR,Sep 9: Day after the state BJP General Secretary who is also the MLA of Namsai, Chow Zingnu Namchoom tested positive for Covid -19, the state BJP Chief Biyuram Waghe also tested positive. Waghe informed bout his sample result through social media and urged the people who came in contact with him recently to get themselves tested as a precautionary measure.
As per the medical bulletin, at least 8 people have tested positive during the Rapid Antigen Test conducted at the State Assembly for MLAs and staff of the Assembly, Waghe is one of them. As per sources, three more staffers have tested covid positive from the state BJP office.
Interestingly, Waghe tested positive day after he attended the BJP State Executive meeting held on Tuesday at DK Convention hall, Itanagar where executive members of different frontal wings of the state BJP participated.
As per the State Health Bulletin released today the state reported 147 fresh cases on Wednesday.
51 new cases has been reported from Capital region,15 from Lower Dibang Valley,11 from East Siang,11 from Changlang,9 from West Siang,7 from Lower Subansiri, 5 from Papumpare, 4 each from Leparada & Upper Subansiri, three each from Lohit,East Kameng, Tirap &Upper Siang, 2 each from Tawang & Namsai, and one each from Shi-Yomi,Lower Siang & Kurung Kumey.
The total positive (active ) cases has reached 1630, while 183 people were discharged today.
