Khonsa, Dec 14: A coordination meeting of Sector Officers assigned with election duties in Tirap district for the ensuing PR polls was convened by DEO-cum-DC Taro Mize today here at the Kamlesh Joshi Conference Hall of DC’s office.
The DEO-cum-DC urged the Sector Officers to ensure polls are conducted in a free, fair and peaceful manner in their respective assigned jurisdiction. While stating that Sector Officers will have to monitor and supervise the 100-meter radius of polling booths on the day of voting where carrying of electronic devices like cameras/mobile handsets by any individual is strictly prohibited as per guidelines of the Central/State Election Commission, he suggested them to coordinate with the Presiding Officers(POs) whenever necessary. He further informed that adequate security forces will be deployed in hypersensitive polling booths to ensure violence-free polls.
DPDO-cum-ADC Hq Kretkam Tikhak enumerated the duties and functions of the Sector Officers and asked them to go through the Presiding Officer's Diary and Panchayat Election Handbook carefully to avoid confusion on the poll day.
All the thirteen Sector Officers who will cover the entire district attended the meeting. Dipro
