For the past few days the district police were getting information that extortion activities were being carried out by the NSCN (KYA) cadres and the road construction companies were their main targets. Based on a specific intelligence input that a staff of a road construction company based is bringing a huge amount of money along with a mobile phone to be delivered to the insurgents, Tirap Police and 6 Assam Rifles established MCP at all the roads coming from Assam.
