Khonsa, Apr 11: Tirap lawmakers today suggested for a 30-day lockdown extension in the District.
Minister, PHE & WS, DoTCL Wangki Lowang, MLAs Wanglin Lowangdong, Wanglam Sawin, Chakat Aboh, SP Tirap, among others attended the coordination meeting to oversee effective lockdown implementation and preparedness post lifting of the same.
Minister (PHE & WS), all MLAs and representatives of various Associations and NGOs shared their views and asked the DA to recommend for extension of lockdown to the state government in greater interest of all and restrict entry/exit of people from the neighbouring districts as well as states into the district.
DC PN Thungon urged all attendees to extend support in fighting the pandemic in the district unitedly and follow the government instructions in this regard. He emphasised on wearing of mask by all and maintaining of social distancing and specifically urged to identify those who are symptomatic and bring it to notice of the authority.
After a threadbare discussion the Minister and all MLAs strongly resolved that lockdown should be extended by another 30 days starting April 15 in the district. It was decided that people and students stranded within or outside Arunachal should remain in their respective places and all-possible help and support shall be provided to them by the Minister, district’s MLAs, DA and concerned villagers. All parents/guardians are to direct their wards/children not to return to their home district and in case the lockdown is lifted on April 14, stranded people/students would be quarantined in a designated quarantine facility according to symptomatic and asymptomatic manifestations, the meeting decided and no one would be allowed for home quarantine in any case.
