ITANAGAR, Sep 14: Timely intervention by a police team led by Women Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), P Taku has saved the life of a 19-year old girl who allegedly tried to commit suicide by consuming phenyle, Capital SP, Tumme Amo said on Saturday.
Earlier, a verbal complaint was received by the WPS made by the elder sister of the girl, informing that her younger sister whom she scolded in the morning had left home and had consumed phenyle in order to commit suicide. OC WPS took up the matter with Capital SP immediately and started tracking the mobile location of the victim. At the same time, police team started the search operation along with the complainant. After an intensive search, police finally managed to identify the location and recovered the victim in an unconscious state at Division-IV. The team immediately rushed her to RK Mission Hospital and the condition of the girl is stated to be stable now.
“A few minutes delay would have meant death for her,” SP informed, adding that during the hurried rescue operation, WPS vehicle and its window shield got damaged. Newsdesk
