HAYULIANG, Dec 14: Three more bodies were recovered on Sunday, taking the total number of deceased to twenty in the tragic Hayuliang–Chaglagam road accident. The bodies were formally identified and handed over to the respective families after completion of all legal and medical procedures, officials said.
According to the latest official statement, one labourer survived the accident and is currently undergoing treatment at Dibrugarh Medical College, where doctors have described his condition as stable.
According to the report, a total of 21 labourers, including the driver, were travelling in the ill-fated mini truck at the time of the accident. Authorities have stated that the ongoing search and rescue operation will be concluded once the final confirmation regarding the number of occupants is received.
District administration, disaster response teams from NDRF, Indian Army, and local volunteers have been working tirelessly in the search & rescue operation under extremely challenging terrain and weather conditions .The update was shared by Deputy Commissioner Anjaw Millo Kojin.
