PASIGHAT, Jan 5: In a tragic incident, three kutcha houses were gutted today around 10.30 in the morning at Pasighat's Banskota area.
Fire tender along with safety crew team of Indian Air Force from Pasighat ALG under the able direction of squadron leader Chakravarti Singh Lakhawat arrived immediately to the site and used extinguishing media to control the inferno. Three fire tenders from Pasighat fire brigade were also pressed into service and doused the blaze within 40 minutes. Unfortunately massive inferno gutted all valuable belongings of occupants into ashes. Five filled LPG cylinder explosion was reported but there was no report of loss of life or injury. Cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. 
As per direction of DC Dr. Kinny Singh, EAC (Sadar) Dr. M. Kakki and DDMO G. Tsumo rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation and handed over some admissible amount as immediate relief to the victim families. 
Meanwhile, local MLA Kaling Moyong (stationed at Itanagar) expressed grief over the devastating blaze and sympathy towards the affected families. Moyong asked the party workers to carry out relief measures so that victim families could not face any problem in the prevailing cold conditions. The MLA advised the people to take utmost care while handling inflammable items like cooking gas, gas stove and candle light to avoid such house fires.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh has also urged the people to take fire safety seriously by taking proper precautions. 
Secretary Administration Adi Baane Kebang (East Siang), Samuel Doruk appreciated the efforts of IAF team and appealed the police fire brigade personnel to keep all equipment ready for action.
