PASIGHAT, Oct 17: A team of doctors sucessfully carried out a Lower Segment Caesarean Section (LSCS) on a Covid-19 positive patient on Friday at the Dedicated Covid Hospital (DCH), NEIFM, making it the first such case in East Siang district.
A team of doctors, nursing officers and supporting staff from the Bakin Pertin General Hospital (BPGH) Pasighat carried out the operation on the 38-year-old woman and delivered a healthy baby girl.
Meanwhile, two more LSCS were successfully conducted today on Covid positive patients. Both mothers and babies are doing well, according to the hospital.
JDHS (T&R) Dr. D. Raina and Nodal Officer Dr. T. Tali informed that the team led by Dr Binpi Karlo (Gynecologist) supported by Dr. Yamini Taloh (Anesthesiologist), Dr. Gagam Dai (Senior Pediatrician), Marshal Panyang (Nursing Officer), Otam Taloh (Nursing Officer) and Jeeten Rai (OT boy) created history by successfully accomplishing the procedure under challenging situation.
DMO Dr. Kaling Dai informed that these were tough procedure with suffocating and poor visibility of PPEs to the operating doctors. He congratulated the serving team for saving lives of mother and children by risking their own lives in a pandemic situation.
