ITANAGAR, Sep 13: The Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex, Talo Potom arrested three persons who were carrying out illegal earth cutting at Nirjuli on Sunday. The earthmover used for the purpose was also seized.
It is pertinent to mention that earth cutting has been banned in the Capital Complex as per an order issued by the District Magistrate on 11th May 2021 till further orders.
Further, the DC has also engaged an administrative officer to dedicatedly perform duties to contain illegal earth cutting/ illegal encroachments within the Itanagar capital complex.
The DC has stressed that the district administration has zero tolerance against such illegal activities and has sought cooperation of all the administrative officers, police and public to prevent earth cutting in the capital complex.  As activities like illegal earth cutting may lead to loss of life and properties, it has to be regulated if at all it is to be permitted so that it does not hamper the ecology, life and properties, said the DC.
