Yachuli, Oct 28: The Association of Women Self Help Groups (WSHG) of Yachuli Block in Lower Subansiri district is currently organising Aadhaar card enrolment camps in collaboration with the District Statistical Office, Ziro at various locations of the 16th Yachuli AC during October-November.
It can be recalled that 4000 WSHG members from 14 Blocks of 7 districts celebrated the International Women’s Day on March 8 this year which was attended by Home Minister Bamang Felix, Education Minister Er. Taba Tedir and a host of MLAs. During the two-day programme the members shared their experiences and developmental changes made by the SHGs. Since then WSHG Yachuli has been trying to contribute to society through various means and during the Covid-19 pandemic it assisted the District Administration and the frontline workers by distributing masks, community kitchen services and creating awareness.
During their regular exercises like resource and social mapping of villages, the members spread awareness on the indispensability of the Aadhaar card and later approached Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan who liaised with the District Statistical Department and provided logistics support to carry out the Aadhar enrolment drive in the interior parts of the constituency.
Since then, enrolments have picked momentum and a series of camps have been organised at Talo and Yazali Circles with further plans to cover Pistana and Deed through special camps. DIPRO (Contributed by Binu Boje, BMM Yachuli, ArSRLM)
