YAZALI, Jul 24: In the wake of a sudden surge of Covid cases in Yachuli assembly constituency, Minister Education and Cultural Affairs Er. Taba Tedir today convened a meeting here to review the Covid status and deliberate on measures to contain the spread.
While appreciating the Medical officers  and Yachuli administration for fighting the pandemic, Tedir appealed all not to allow laxity and observe Covid Appropriate Behaviour in letter and spirit. "The people of Yachuli AC have been cooperative with the medical department in terms of getting vaccinated and more than 35 villages have been 100 % vaccinated,” he said, appealing to the left-outs to visit the nearest health facility to get inoculated. Besides advising the medical department to publicize the outreach vaccination session plans well in advance for a wider coverage, Tedir requested the PRI leaders to lead the vaccination movement in their areas.
DMO Dr. Tage Kanno briefed on the current Covid scenario in Lower Subansiri through a PPT, informing that efforts are on to intensify testing so that positive cases are tracked and isolated. "Because of a few discrepancies in our baseline, we are unable to justify our performance in the state," he added while emphasising on equal participation from all stakeholders in obtaining concrete and refined data.
All the MOs under Yachuli AC presented  the Covid status and vaccination  progress of their respective jurisdictions. As of July 24, out of 250 tests conducted, 25 were detected Covid positive (current district positivity rate 10%) and advised for home isolation.
Among others, DC Somcha Lowang, ZPC Likha Sangchhore, DSP Tasi Darang, Medical and Administrative officers of the constituency attended the meeting. DIPRO
