ITANAGAR, Sep 16: The valedictory function of the two days Technovation V3.0 technical festival conducted by Rajiv Gandhi Government (RGGP) polytechnic was held here on Monday. Dr Tayek Talom, director, higher and technical education along with colonel R K Sharma, Commanding Officer, 1 Arunachal Pradesh Battalion, NCC attended the concluding event.
In his address Dr Tayek Talom expressed happiness over the participation of all the government polytechnics and requested to include the lone private polytechnic of Arunachal Pradesh in next Technovation.
Further he said, “These days technologies plays a pivotal role in day to day life so as an engineering student, the students of polytechnics should strive to contribute something to the society for the betterment of nation.”
He also called for healthy competition among different polytechnics of state in the every field. Dr Talom informed that two never government engineering colleges are coming up in the state and said it will open up opportunities to the diploma students for further studies. He also added that discussion with NIT Director has been held to explore possibilities of conducting employability training course so that students can become self employed. The director also requested all the polytechnics of state to be part of next Technovation too.
Colonel R K Sharma spoke on how science can contribute to the army. He also said students can contribute to the nation in whatever possible manner they can.
Principal of RGGP Dr A K Tripathy in his address reminisced about how Technovation festival started with just rupees twenty five thousand donated by NHPC in the year 2017. “Today it has become a bigger technical festival with support from DHTE involving all the govt. Polytechnics,” he said.
Special invitee Tashor Pali, deputy director, Arunachal Pradesh State Aids Control Society (APSACS) gave an expert talks on HIV/AIDS.
He dwelt at length about what is HIV/AIDS, causes, why it's important to talk about it, how it's transmitted, prevention, different stages and stigma associated with it. Later all the winners of different events were felicitated with medals and certificates.
The Technovation V3.0 event was sponsored by various departments and private companies including skill development and entrepreneurship department, APSACS, PHED and WS Itanagar, APEDA Itanagar, Allahabad Bank, M/S Mala enterprises, M/S Swastika system, M/S Ananth enterprises, M/S Lankung Tachak enterprises and Third eye education group. Sanjay Bengia, deputy director, technical education was also present on the occasion.
