PASIGHAT, Jul 24: A team of experts from the Indian Council of Medical Research and state health officials have arrived at Pasighat to assess the prevalence of vector borne diseases in East Siang district.
The ICMR team from Dibrugarh comprising of Senior Scientist, Dr. Siraj A. Khan, Entomologist, Insect collectors and Technician including Dr. L Jhampa, State Epidemiologist with Entomologist discussed the health scenario in the district with health authorities.
In this regard, a meeting was held to discuss vector borne viral diseases including Dengue, Japanese Encephalitis and Scrub Typhus etc, at Conference Hall of Bakin Pertin General Hospital Pasighat on Tuesday. The meeting highlighting on data collection and its importance also suggested that certain protocols be followed while testing for Japanese Encephalitis. The need to regularize the sale of vaccines and vaccination by drug retailers, including maintaining cold chain was emphasized..
