ITANAGAR, Sep 4: On the eve of Teachers’ Day on September 5 which commemorates the birth anniversary of the first Vice-President and second President of independent India, Bharat Ratna Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.), Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Assembly Speaker Pasang D Sona have conveyed their greetings to the people of the state and the teaching community.
Remembering Dr. Radhakrishnan as a great philosopher, humanist and an exemplary teacher, the Governor in his message while mentioning the role of teachers in a student’s life in particular and society in general called upon the teaching fraternity to follow his path of righteousness and high moral.
“I would also like to appeal all my Arunachalee brothers, sisters, teachers and students to fight the Covid menace unitedly for its defeat,” his message read. Extending his greetings to the state’s teaching community, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the teachers serving in various government as well as private schools and institutes, especially those posted in rural areas.  
“On this special day, we humbly acknowledge the challenges, hardships and the special role that teachers play in our lives. I believe that teachers of our state would follow the footsteps of Dr. Radhakrishnan and shape the future of our students,” he said while paying tributes.
Assembly Speaker Pasang D Sona while conveying his greetings called upon the teaching community of the state to put in their best efforts for imparting quality education so as to help the students become responsible citizens of the state and country.
