ITANAGAR, Oct 15: The All Arunachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test Qualifiers Association (AAPTETQA) on Tuesday expressed its dismay over the recent cabinet decision of September 17, 2019, while superseding its earlier decision of August 10, 2018 to consider performance and seniority as the benchmark for the regularization of in-service SSA (ISSE) teachers.
In a representation addressed to Chief secretary, it lamented that “consequently upon this cabinet decision, our repeated appeal for TET qualified in-service SSA (ISSE) teacher’s quota went in vain which is a sorry state of affairs for our education system in the state."
"And such messy decisions of lawmakers will further deteriorate our entire education system. Moreover, it will also invite serious legal tussle between TET qualified in-service SSA (ISSE) teachers and non-TET qualified in-service SSA (ISSE) teachers,” the association said.
Requesting immediate reconsideration of the recent cabinet decision of 17 September last, it alleged that the decision is entirely illegal to set aside the mandatory of APTET/CTET quota which also violates the framed guidelines and norms of RTE Act, 2009 and NCTE notification 2010.”
The association further appealed the state government to introduce two-leg method and both TET and Non-TET be taken for regularization by maintaining 50:50 ratio based on screening test or optical mark recognition to recruit and regularize those merit in-service SSA (ISSE) teachers.
