PASIGHAT, Jul 15: Mebo MLA Lombo Tayeng on Thursday reviewed the progress of various development projects in a review meeting convened by the ADC Mebo Ainstein Koyu at the Mebo Audio-Visual conference hall.
EE Power, Tarik Mize, EE RWD Kipa Rinia, EE PHED Mizing Dupak, AE WRD Geyon Tayeng and AE PWD Neki Ratan attended the meeting and gave detailed presentation highlighting the achievements, issues, challenges and explained the salient features.
While presiding over the meeting, MLA Tayeng was keen to know how things were progressing related to these projects and asked officers to share ideas on how to move things to the next level. The working departments should complete all projects within the stipulated time and ensure durability, said the MLA adding that people must get full benefits of such initiatives undertaken under Mebo Sub-division. He directed HoDs to expedite the execution of the development projects and asked them to develop a “Spirit of collectivism and belongingness” when it comes to implementing government schemes and projects adopting rigorous working style to pass on the fruits of good governance to the people of Mebo in particular and the state as a whole.
The MLA instructed the attending officers to ensure uninterrupted water and power supplies, good road connectivity and all necessary facilities live. Officers should take local people into their confidence and involve them as important stakeholders for success of schemes/projects. They have to make the people aware of every development initiatives at the very beginning. Local people have to be made aware of benefits of any scheme to ensure transparency and accountability, he said.
Suggesting a strong mechanism to prevent leakage or misutilisation of allocated public money and to ensure quality works and timely completion, Tayeng assured that he would periodically assess and monitor the implementation of the schemes and projects. To tackle the prevailing Covid situation, Tayeng reiterated to adhere to Covid appropriate behavior that includes mandatory use of masks, hand hygiene, social distancing and also proper ventilation of closed spaces. To contain the spread of infection, test-track-treat should be continued as per existing guidelines issued by the government. He appreciated the frontline workers for tireless efforts and appealed all the eligible beneficiaries to get vaccinated free of cost being provided by the government. DIPRO
