PASIGHAT, Nov 4: Schools of Mebo sub-division were facing shortage of desks and benches and taking due cognizance of the problem, Mebo MLA Lombo Tayeng today donated 300 pairs of  desk and benches for the government schools of Mebo Sub-division.
Appreciating the hard work and contribution of teachers to state building, Tayeng exhorted them to rededicate themselves to improve state’s educational scenario.  He exhorted students to uphold the values of obedience and honour towards their teachers and elders. Stating that development in education sector has always been his top priority, the MLA announced that students from his block securing the first slot in Arun Board and CBSE Board examinations in the district would be felicitated.  Class-V district topper would be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 50,000/- and Class-VIII district topper with Rs 75000/-. The AISSE and AISSCE district toppers would be awarded each with a cash prize of Rs 1lac along with Laptop. 
The function was attended by the DDSE Jongge Yirang, DIET Principal Biren Dutta and all the head of schools of Mebo Sub-Division.
