ITANAGAR, Jul 12: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have expressed their grief and condoled the loss of lives of the two girl students at Namtsering village under Dudunghar circle of Tawang district who died due to wall collapse during the wee hours on July 11.
Conveying his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the two children, Rinchin Lhamu and Genden Wangmu, Governor has appealed to the people of the state to take precautionary steps to protect themselves from natural calamities. He has also asked the administrative heads, school authorities, health & disaster management department and police to be vigilant and prompt in offering assistance to the people vulnerable to calamities and disasters.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pema Khandu while conveying his
condolences to the bereaved family members said that the State and its people are with the victims during this trying times. He announced an immediate release of Rs. 4 lakh ex-gratia to the next of kin of the deceased and prayed for early recovery of those recuperating in hospitals.
Assuring all possible support from the state government, Khandu has issued directives to all the DCs and the disaster management department to keep strict vigil and remain alert during monsoon to avoid human casualties and damages. Chief Secretary has also been directed by the CM to personally monitor the situation. PRO Raj Bhavan, CMO
