Tawang, Dec 31: A meeting of the District Task Force for Immunization-cum-COVID-19 vaccination workshop was conducted here at the conference hall of DC's Office wherein discussions for observing the upcoming National Immunization Day in Tawang was also held.
The meeting was presided by Deputy Commissioner Tawang Sang Phuntso and attended by DMO, Medical Superintendent, DRCHO, members from various departments, paramilitary forces and all Medical Officers from the CHCs and PHCs of the district. DRCHO Dr Lobsang Tempa while presenting the details of the district’s COVID vaccination plan through a PowerPoint Presentation informed that 1002 registered frontline workers comprising health workers, ASHAs and Anganwadi workers will be covered in the first phase. Sharing the plans for National Immunization Day to be observed on January 17, he informed that 4537 children between 0-5 years of age in the district will be immunised with oral polio vaccine. DMO Dr Wangdi Lama requested all ASHAs and Anganwadi workers to spread awareness on COVID-19 and follow necessary SOPs while on duty.
The DC while appealing all not to panic due to the recent spike of COVID cases in the district, asked the medical officers to follow state government’s instructions relating to prescribing of generic medicines. DIPRO
