TAWANG, Jul 21: A District Level Task Force (DLTF) meeting convened today here at the Conference Hall of DC’s office discussed measures for effective implementation of Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016 in the district.
As per the said rules, permissible thickness for plastic/polythene bags is 50 microns and above. IEC campaigns would also be carried out with the help of PRI leaders, local media, NGOs and students.
In line with the Central government initiative to make India free from Single Use Plastic (SUP) by 2022, the District Administration has prepared a road map for eliminating SUP in Tawang within the same timeline.
