Tawang, Aug 28: The farmers of Tawang district on Friday were distributed power tillers as a part of the ‘Distribution of Farm Machinery Initiative’ under the CM’s Sashakt Kisan Yojana (CMSKY) 2019-20.
Deputy Commissioner Sang Phuntsok distributed the machinery to 13 farmers in a small function held here near the recently opened APMC sales counter. The farmers deposited a minimum amount of Rs. 91,500 as beneficiary share and the state government has provided an assistance of Rs 1 lakh per tiller. Congratulating the beneficiaries, DC appealed the farmers to adopt modern scientific technology in all agricultural operations to boost production and become self-sufficient. Earlier 13 atta chakkis, 10 paddy dehusking machines and 8 grass-weed slashers were also provided to the farmers by the Department of Agriculture under the CMSKY scheme.
