TAWANG, Jun 10: The Tawang district administration today held a review meeting  ahead of the expiry of the district lockdown on June 12 at 5AM.
Addressing the house present, DC Sang Phuntsok said that with effect from April 15 during the second wave, 995 positive cases has been detected till date in the entire Tawang district and 12,339 tests/screening done.
"We have completed random testing of almost all the villages and colonies leaving few very interior villages under Jang sub division. We cannot keep going with containment zone of entire District, this is hampering the economic and other developmental activities, even if the containment zone is lifted the markets will be opened partially," the DC said.
He further sought advice from Health department Tawang for measures to be taken, if the state government considers de-notification of containment zone in Tawang District. He asked all the health workers, Incident commanders and frontline workers to work more actively if the government approves lifting of containment.
DMO Dr.Wangdi Lama suggested for aggressive IEC activities in every village. Medical Superintendent Dr.N.Namshum suggested for micro containment zones as per number of cases detected in a particular area and where currently the number of active cases are high. Dr.Sangey Thinlay DSO(IDSP) also disclosed that in many cases people are reluctant, refuse to tell about having symptoms, and this in turn delays the treatment and lead to patients coming for medical aid in a very critical condition.  DIPRO
