Terming the feat as one of the proud moments for the people of the state, the Governor said that by conquering Mt. Everest Yangjom has proved that daughters of Arunachal are tough, courageous, adventurous, enterprising and meritorious. Her achievement will motivate the state’s youths to excel in their chosen field, he said while commending the National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS), Dirang for the accomplishment of Yangjom, who is also an instructor there. “The institute has achieved its objective of spotting talented youths and grooming them in achieving the pinnacle of mountaineering,” the Governor stated, adding that Yangjom as a youth icon must now work for creating Covid-19 awareness in the state. “She must make a clarion call to motivate the state’s people to strictly observe all Covid SOPs,” the Governor opined.
