NIRJULI, Jan 9: The Tarh Welfare Society (TWS) today observed its 15th Foundation Day with various events that included felicitation of achievers from the community.
In his Foundation Day address, TWS Chairman Tarh Tarak while acknowledging the pivotal role played by a large number of qualified persons and professionals in the community in ensuring their children remain engaged in academic pursuit, underscored the importance of peaceful co-existence with all clans and communities for overall socio-economic development of the state. He also made a fervent appeal to uphold the culture of hospitality, which he said would go a long way in promoting tourism in Arunachal Pradesh.
A number of achievers of the community from various fields were felicitated to mark the occasion that included newly-elected IMC corporators Tarh Nachung and Tarh Achak, APPSC successful candidates Dr Tarh Chachu and Dr Tarh Kapa and students for securing high percentage of marks in Classes X and XII.
TWS General Secretary Tarh Kama highlighted last year’s activities of the Society. Flag hoisting by the Chairman and cultural programmes by tiny tots were the other major events of the celebration.
