MARIYANG, Dec 13: MLA Mariyang Geku constituency, Kanggong Taku made his maiden visit to Peki Modi, the remotest and oldest village under his constituency on December 11.
He was accompanied by ADC Mariyang Dr Manjuli komut , EAC Khoda Lasa including other officials, five ZPMs of the subdivision and public leaders on a 8-hour footmarch to the village.
Appreciating the generous hospitality shown by the villagers of Peki Modi which comprises of only 13 households,the MLA admitted the grievances placed by the villagers regarding the absence of road connectivity, electricity connection etc as genuine and assured to take up the matter with the higher authority.
To encourage education of the children of the village, he assured to pay Rupees Ten Thousand per year to each student of Peki Modi who are studying outside and in order to speed up the process and maintain transparency, the MLA asked the villagefolks to submit the list to ADC Mariyang.
