ITANAGAR,  Oct 15 : MLA Seppa-East, Tapuk Taku has been elected as  the leader of National People’s Party (NPP) Legislature Party here today. Taku has been  elected as the legislature party leader  after  MLA Roing   Muthcu Mithi resigned from the said post on being appointed the NPP’s National General Secretary.
Addressing the media, Taku said  that the NPP is in alliance with the central BJP government as it is a part of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA). He assured all effort to the further expansion and growth of the party in the state.
While stressing that the party is an alliance to the state BJP, Taku added that his party will always stand for development and welfare activities of the BJP led state government.
Asked about his opinion on the Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH) road condition, Taku said that under the guidance of chief minister Pema Khandu all the work are in progress and many of them are almost completed.
NPP National General Secretary Mutchu Mithi said that the party in the last two years has emerged as one of the prominent and successful political parties.
Further responding to implementation of Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB)and its impact on the state, Mithi said that the NPP party president Conrad Sangma has already discussed the matter with the Union  Home  Minister Amit Shah during the NEDA meeting held recently.
It was clearly stated by the union home minister, then to incorporate the BEFR, 1873 before the implementation of CAB in the state, he added.
“We are happy to know about the response to incorporate the BEFR Act in CAB but at the same time we also want to see it on paper when placed during a discussion in the Assembly,” he said.
Mithi also stressed that Arunachal Pradesh is for the indigenous people and the party will not tolerate anything that hampers the rights of the indigenous people.
Mithi also asked the people to understand the difference between Article 371 (A) of Nagaland, Article 371 (G) of Mizoram, and Article 371 (B) of Meghalaya with Article 371 (H) of the state which only empowers the governor with special responsibility with respect to law and order in the State.
