Roing, Jan 24: Minister(Animal Husbandry, Veterinary & Dairy Development) Tage Taki inaugurated the district veterinary hospital and a state of the art eco-friendly pig shed at Roing today, in the presence of Advisor cum MLA Tana Hali Tara, MLA Mutchu Mithi, Secretary Bidol Tayeng, Deputy Commissioner Soumya Saurabh among others.
Dedicating the pig shed to the people of the district, Taki hoped that pig farmers of the district would use the infrastructure created to get trained in the latest technology, become self reliant and self sufficient enough to stop the import of pigs from outside the state, in the future. He also explained on the highly efficient, sanitary and eco friendly technology used.
Tara praised the technology used in the pig shed and stated that any waste material produced can further be used as manure. He also encouraged the farmers of the district to become an example for others to follow.
MLA Mithi thanked the Minister for the rapidly expanding infrastructure development under the Veterinary department in the state, and said it is asset created for the state.
The District Veterinary Hospital has been funded under RIDF(Tranche-XXIV) and the State of the Art Eco-Friendly Pig Shed under CSS(NLM) with the capacity to house 30 sows and 2 boars. DIPRO
