ITANAGAR, Mar 7: The Minister of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary , Tage Taki emphasized on the establishment of industrial units in every district to support grassroots artisans and weavers to increase their productivity.
Stating that the artisans are the backbone of the handicraft sector, Taki also appreciated the efforts of the organizers to develop and promote  locally made indigenous crafts and handicrafts at the state level.
He was speaking at the valedictory function as chief guest of the week long state level exhibition of indigenous products which concluded on a colourful note here today.
Taki also urged artisans to explore product diversification, develop design innovation in the textile and handicrafts sector, and create a sustainable income and employment generation chain.
He said that surely such events will boost the socio-economic and livelihood status of the artisans and assured to give all the support from the government so that the village based industries can achieve new heights.
Encouraging local entrepreneurs to rise, Taki assured to convene a meeting to find short and long-term solutions to the challenges faced by grassroots artisans and weavers.
Participants from various parts of the state had set up stalls at the exhibition showcasing their diverse locally made indigenous products.
Held on the theme, "Stay local and expand globally", the highlight of the week-long exhibition was the indigenous fashion show that showcased tribal wear made by local designers.
Arunachal NGO & Entrepreneurship Forum (ANGOEF) Chairperson Taba Yall Nabam and other also spoke on the occasion.
