ITANAGAR, Nov 5: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) on Thursday chaired a high-level security meeting with Chief Minister Pema Khandu and General Officer Commanding in Chief (GOC-in-C), Eastern Command Lt. General Anil Chauhan here at the Raj Bhavan wherein issues related to Arunachal Pradesh such as defence and security apparatuses, coordination among forces, defence infrastructure and communication necessities were reviewed.
While asserting that ensuring national security to the last person in the remotest part of the state has always been and will be the top priority, the Governor advised for increasing the frequency of interactions between defence and civil administration to further strengthen this priority and emphasised on removal of bottlenecks in building better coordination particularly in sharing of information on defence-related matters. Extolling the fighting calibre of the Indian Armed Forces and their contributions in socio-economic development of the state, he termed the local populace as ‘second line of defence’ and underscored the need for building better army-civilian relationship.
