SEPPA, Feb 24: Tajum Dere of Shi Yomi district (male category) and Kiakia Lindum of Kurung Kumey (Female Category) were declared winners of the Valley Trail Championship, a two-day mountain terrain bike competition from Itanagar to Seppa.
Dere clocked 05:03:54 hours to complete 183 kilometers, while Lindum took 07:03:26 hours to complete the race and won the female category. They both won a cash prize of Rs 50,000 each, including a trophy and certificate.
Suto Linggi of Lower Dibang Valley was only three minutes behind Dere to clinch the second spot in the male category. At the same time, Ahonda Menjo from Lower Dibang Valley had to be content with the third spot.
In the female category, Harshita Kaushik of Assam took 9 hours to complete the race and bagged the second position, while Tana Yaya of Papum Pare came third.
The 18-year-old Nayu Sonam Lapung of East Kameng completed the race in 6 hours and was declared the best promising rider. The Arunachal Amateur Bicycle Association organised the race in collaboration with the Golden Jubilee Nyokum Yullo Celebration Committee.
As many as 23 riders from across the country had participated in the race.
Smart City CEO Dahey Sangno gave away the prizes to all the winners at the Golden Jubilee Nyokum Yullo celebration ground.
