ITANAGAR, Nov 12: Tabu Dupit of Upper Subansiri District became champion of the 5th State Level Arunachal Pradesh Open Fide Rating Chess Tournament-2021 .
The tournament was organized by All Arunachal Pradesh Chess Association (AAPCA) from November 7-11 at Siddharta Hall, Itanagar.
As many as 104 players from across the state participated in the tournament to win the coveted title of the state chess champion-2021. Out of these 50 were International rated players.
Bigam Doke with 7.5 of 9 point and Tachung Dupit with 7.5 of 9 finished in 2nd and 3rd position respectively, whereas Manjit Taw with 7 of 9 came in 4th Position. Top four winners of the tournament will represent Arunachal Pradesh at National Premier Chess Championship-2022.
Under Special Category, Devani Mara of Upper Subansiri District won the title of the best U-18 female Chess Player.
