ITANAGAR, Oct 25: The Central government has allocated Rs 3000 crore to create jobs in the North Eastern region, said Dr Lijum Nochi, professor of economics at Rajiv Gandhi University.
Dr Nochi was the keynote speaker at a symposium organised by Himalayan University on Role of Niti Aayog (NA) in Indian Economy.  Dr Nochi said that NIti Aayog has suggested accelerating economic development by promoting medium and small scale (MSME) sector as it would create jobs in a massive way in the remote areas of the region.
The Niti Aayog has created two hubs for better coordination and promoting deep thinking process. These are Team India hub and Knowledge and Innovation hub for integral process of decision making and evolving strategies to solve problems of drinking water, forest resources and creating a remunerative, self-sufficient agriculture.
 The students of Himalayan University gave presentation on various aspects of the Niti Ayog in energy, nutrition, medical council bill and employment generation.
Dr. Vivek Mittal, Registrar of Himalayan University said that replacement of Planning Commission with the Niti  Aayog bettered the delivery system with a keen objectivity. 
Danchuk Bagra, director of the university also spoke.
