ITANAGAR, Nov 2:   Suspected NSCN- K-YA cadres abducted three workers engaged in PMGSY road construction work from Pumao in Longding district on January 31 last, informed  Deputy Superintendent of Police, Longding, B. Tangzang. 
The victims have been identified as  Banphua Wangpan of Longkhaw village, Hiren Konch (31) of 2-Kacharuguri in Dibrugarh, Assam  and  Ramashis Mahato (35)  from Bihar. However, the next day,  on February 1, militants released Banphua Wangpan who later informed the police about the incident.   “Wangpan has returned to his native village Longkhaw on February 1 last, but the other two who worked as drivers of earthmovers are still in the captivity of NSCN K-YA cadres and it has been informed that both the abductees have been taken at Nayasa- Zahsia village, Nagaland," informed the DySP.  It is suspected that the motive of the abduction might be for ransom and Self Style Lt Col Botai Wangsu may be involved in it, asserted the Police.  

The DySP further informed that FIR has been also lodged at the police station related to the kidnapping incident.
