BORDUMSA, May 16:  In a significant operation, law enforcement agencies seized a substantial quantity of suspected drugs, specifically heroin, in a raid conducted on Saturday last at Bijoypur 1 village in Bordumsa. The successful operation was carried out by Sub Inspector  P Kimsing and a police party from PS Bordumsa, along with S. Seema Devi, Assistant Commandant of the 186 Bn CRPF, and troops from the CRPF camp in Bordumsa. The raid was conducted based on credible information received from reliable source.
Under the supervision of  Oling Lego, the ADC cum Executive Magistrate, the joint team approached the residence of Josh Anand Chakma, a suspected drug peddler aged 29 years and a resident of Bijoypur 1 in Bordumsa circle. During the search, the team discovered 17 soap cases containing a net weight of 207.07 grams of suspected heroin in his possession.
In addition to the seized drugs, the team also confiscated one motorcycle, two mobile handsets, and a sum of Rs 12,830 in cash. The recovered items, along with the accused drug peddler, were handed over to the PS Bordumsa (ACP) for further necessary legal action.
The successful raid and seizure of drugs serve as a stern warning to those involved in the illegal drug trade and reaffirm the commitment of the authorities to maintain law and order in the region, security agencies said.
The concerned authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or information regarding drug trafficking to assist in the ongoing fight against narcotics.
